聲音似活的,但卻是死的;人心似靜的, 但卻是活的;息止靜慮在每一點聲音中則能反聞聞自性。
Sound seems to be alive, but it is dead; man’s mind appears to be calm, but it is alive. Cease and meditate on every bit of sound, then one can return to listen to one’s own nature.

從內心虔誠恭敬所發出的真情吐露之聲音, 將成美妙的 讚語,讚我佛偉大的功德這就是修行。
The sounds of genuine emotional outpourings that come from the sincerity and respect of the inner heart, turn them into wonderful praise, praising the great merit of becoming Buddha, this then is cultivation.

一剎那中,一頓飯便輕易地解決了。 問你吃什麼, 卻莫名其妙答不出來,這便是高營養的吸收。
All in a moment, a meal is effortlessly eaten. If you were asked on what you have eaten, baffled you were stuck for an answer. This then is the assimilation of high nutrition.

A straightforward decision, a forthright shoulder of responsibility, it is brave and comfortable.

Virtue is the nutrient that nourishes life.When one has virtue then life will really be comfortable and at ease.

只一味地慣養色身肉體之舒服而已, 必不可能得到法身慧命的顯現。
If one only unceasingly takes good care of one’s flesh body to make it comfortable, then one certainly will not have the realization of the dharma-body and wisdom life.

多一份關懷則少一份暴戾,多一份慈悲則少一份禍患。
Be more considerate, then there is less cruelty. Be more compassionate, then there is less calamity.

Confession and repentance are sincere and magnanimous baring of one’s heart; one needs to have strong, unbeatable courage as well as continuous and unceasing determination to produce real merit and true purity.

Material things and thoughts change anytime, they change all in a moment. Get hold of impermanence and use it well, then you are the master.

世間上沒發菩提心的一切事都是魔事, 因為隨時隨地都 會變化變質。
In this world all works that are done without a mind of bodhi are the workings of the devil, because they change and degenerate anytime and anywhere.

自殺便是自己殺了自己的法身慧命,比殺人罪還要重。
To commit suicide is to kill one’s dharma body and wisdom life, its sin is much heavier than that of killing a man.

發心行善在剎那間即過去─顯得軟弱, 而惡心壞行卻強 而有力的牽迫你;能永抱善心持續善行便是修行。
When one resolves to doing good, this frame of mind is gone in a flash, and it appears weak. However, having an evil mind and doing evil deeds, this strongly leads and forces you (to evil deeds). If one can forever maintain a mind of goodness and continue with good deeds this is practicing the Path.

太民主、太自由,有時候令人生活糜爛而不自知。
Too democratic, too free sometimes makes a person lives a life of decadence without himself knowing it.
上人法語 德行篇 No.23-2
人只要努力的走下去, 直到登峰造極自有境界出來, 真 不行了, 則暫時休息下來,到處都有美好的風光,不要 失望、不要悲傷。
Man only have to go on striving till the very supreme stage, then naturally a state (of wonders) will surface. If one really can not make it, then take a rest temporarily. There is beauteous scenery everywhere, do not get disappointed, do not be in despair.
